First-ness & Other Priorities;

Throughout history people have always been exploring. We have always been searching for something. Whether we set off on a ship to discover uncharted lands or focus on our thoughts to find undiscovered mental states. People ave a fascination with being first, so naturally discovering something would be the ultimate first. This lifestyle of constantly seeking first-ness requires a great deal of dedication and passion. An exploring looking for his piece of the first would have to make this his top priority. He would have to place that before his family, his friends, even his own well-being. I would not be willing to give up those things for the sake of discovery, but I do have passions which I would place ahead of those things. I am sure that everyone can think of something that would be their top priority and though I d not understand the need for first-ness I can understand and appreciate the concept behind it.
