Accidentally Responsible;

I believe that responsibility is a very situation dependent quality. Responsibility is taking ownership for the things one has caused. I am not always the best at taking responsibility for my actions. It is hard to identify who is responsible in situations that directly involve me, but it is very obvious in situations which I am not affiliated with.
My biggest responsibility mistake was when I told my mom she was responsible for me crashing her car. I had just got my temps and she and I were both eager for me to begin driving. The next day I attempted to drive to my grandparent's house a few blocks away. I ran into a telephone pole. (No one was injured, thankfully.) That night I was discussing the incident with my mom and told her it was her fault I crashed. She had let me drive to soon, I said. I had to face some dramatic consequences for that slip.
Looking back, I see that it was not my mother's fault. I know that as the operator of the vehicle I am responsible for the damage. My mom was not mad about the damage, but just about my immature attitude. I do not necessarily believe that I truly thought my mom was responsible for my mistake, but rather I was feeling stressed and disappointed and said some regrettable words. I regret not taking responsibly for my mistake. Taking responsibility shows that you are a mature and strong person. Those are attractive qualities which I now try harder to demonstrate by taking responsibility for my action.

First-ness & Other Priorities;

Throughout history people have always been exploring. We have always been searching for something. Whether we set off on a ship to discover uncharted lands or focus on our thoughts to find undiscovered mental states. People ave a fascination with being first, so naturally discovering something would be the ultimate first. This lifestyle of constantly seeking first-ness requires a great deal of dedication and passion. An exploring looking for his piece of the first would have to make this his top priority. He would have to place that before his family, his friends, even his own well-being. I would not be willing to give up those things for the sake of discovery, but I do have passions which I would place ahead of those things. I am sure that everyone can think of something that would be their top priority and though I d not understand the need for first-ness I can understand and appreciate the concept behind it.
